Go to the Fields section and click the Add Field button at the bottom of the fields list.
You can also use the Arvorum APP to create new fields. Thanks to data synchronization, all information you input using your mobile device is visible in the desktop version of Arvorum. |
You can create a new field by:
- Uploading KLM / shape files
- Importing data from the Rural Payments Agency
- Selecting or drawing a field shape
Choose how you want to create your field and follow further instructions.
Upload KLM / shape files
1. Click the Upload KLM or shape file button at the top of your screen.
2. Click the Browse files button or drag & drop selected files from your computer into the marked space. The files you want to upload will appear in the pop-up. To proceed, click the Upload button.
3. Now, match properties from your files with Arvorum categories. Click the Select property in the right column to open the drop-down list of values.
Select the field name. Optionally you can define field ID.
Next, select the seeding date. If there is no value in your files, you can use predefined inputs:
- None
- Not seeded yet
- Select one seeding date for all fields (if you select this one, the calendar will open where you have to set the seeding date)
As the last step, select crop. If you use values from your files, you have to match them with the crops available in Arvorum.
To do so, click the Select property cell in the Arvorum Crops column. The crop picker opens, where you can find the crop name.
To proceed, click the Create field(s) button.
Creating fields may take a while. Once done, you will see the import summary, and you will find the uploaded fields on the fields list.
In the import summary, you will see how many fields were created, whether they were imported with seasons, or if the import failed. In case of a failed import, you may review your file content. |
Import data from the Rural Payments Agency
1. If your farm is in the United Kingdom, you can import the field shapes and data from the Rural Payments Agency. To do so, click the Enter SBI button at the top of your screen.
2. Insert your 9-digit SBI number and click Next.
3. You will see the number of land parcels and total area in ha. To proceed, click Import. After successful import, you will be redirected to the fields list.
Select or draw a field shape

1. Zoom in the map. White shapes indicate the boundaries. Once you click on the chosen field, you will see the total area in hectares. Select your field and click Next.
2. If you don't see the predefined shapes or you prefer to define field boundaries yourself, click the Draw button.
Click on the map to start drawing your field. Next, click on the field corners to build the shape and close the boundaries by clicking the marked dot.
To edit the shape, click the selected dot and move it on the map. In case you made a mistake, use the Undo and Redo buttons.
If there are any objects on the field that you would like to exclude, such as trees or ponds, use the Cut out feature. Click the scissors icon and draw the shape you want to remove from the total field area.
To proceed, click Next.
3. Fill in field information. Start from the Field Name. Optionally, you can add Field ID.
Next, click the Select crop bar to open the list of crops available in your region. There are several groups:
- Cereals
- Fruit
- Nuts & Trees
- Oilseeds
- Pasture / Grassland
- Pulses
- Soft Fruit
- Speciality
- Sugars
- Vegetables
To find a crop, you can scroll the list or enter the name in the search bar.
Optionally, you can enter crop variety.
Scroll down and define the seeding date. Click the calendar icon and set the date by selecting year, month, and day.
If the crop has not been seeded yet, click the checkbox below the date picker.
If you want to track crop rotation on your field, you can set the selected crop as the current season. To do so, click the Set as current season checkbox. To learn more about Seasons in Arvorum, read this article.
To compare and track data, you may want to add information about the previous crop on the field.
Click the Previous Crop checkbox. Scroll down and fill in the details:
- Select Crop
- Variety (optionally)
- Seeding date
- Harvesting date
- Yield (in tonnes)
4. Click Finish.
You have just created your new field! You will find it on the map and on the fields list. Remember that it might take several minutes for the first biomass maps to appear.
